The fish market hall Feskekôrka, (‘fish church’ in Swedish) is an indoor fish and shellfish market where you can buy all kinds of seafood delicacies caught on the day.
Feskekörka inaugurated 1 November 1874. It was designed by Gothenburg's former city architect, Victor von Gegerfelt. With the characteristic ogival windows and a design without partition walls or pillars were Feskekörka one for its time futuristic building.
The fish auction was moved in 1910 to the new fishing harbour at Majnabbe. Since then Feskekörka gradually developed into Gothenburg's leading location for the sale of seafood with four fish trading company and two restaurants.
