Fløibanen in Bergen is a funicular railway that takes visitors from the city centre of Bergen up to Mount Fløyen, 320 m above sea level. It offers stunning panoramic views of Bergen, surrounding fjords, and the North Sea.
The journey up the mountain takes about 6-8 minutes, and once at the top, visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, picnicking, or simply soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Fløibanen can be found in the heart of Bergen, 150 m from Fisketorget – the fish market – and Bryggen wharf, and it takes just 10 minutes to walk to the lower station from where the cruise ships dock along Bryggen.
There are endless opportunities for walks on Fløyen, as well as a cafe, restaurant, and children’s playground. The funicular runs daily from early morning to late evening.
