Fredriksborg is located at the northern most part of Värmdö, an island in the archipelago 45 min from Stockholms city centre.

The building of the fortress Fredriksborg commenced in 1721. The position was ideal for defending Stockholm against enemies. Today, close to 300 years later, it’s time for Fredriksborg to serve a whole new purpose. The hotel has been carefully and thoroughly renovated and now it’s time for all of to enjoy Fredriksborg with its astounding location next to Oxdjupet, the main inlet for all ships and boats entering Stockholm. All of our rooms are charmingly decorated with a great deal of personality. Fredriksborg also has a great food culture. The menu is carefully composed and the food serves with a lot of love and passion.

Fredriksborg can also arrange fishing trips and sailboat excursions and many other archipelago activities.

The ambition in the kitchen at Fredriksborg is very high and they use only the best ingredients. As often as possible the ingredients are from local farms and producers. Fredriksborg have something for everyone: coffee in the sun, a three-course meal or smoked prawns on our seaside terrace.
