Lyngsfjord Adventure was established many years ago by passionate outdoorsmen with a vision to develop outdoor adventure tourism in Northern Norway in the place where nobody else would dare to start.
After a hard but successful kick-off, Lyngsfjord Adventure was born, and Camp Tamok established as a base for all the adventures.
Lyngsfjord Adventure has been welcoming guests from around the world to our wilderness centre at Camp Tamok since 2007. They specialise in exciting winter activities in the Arctic wilderness. You can enjoy dog sledding, snowmobiling, reindeer sledding and more in a majestic setting just a 75-minute scenic journey from downtown Tromso.
They have daily departures every morning and evening throughout the winter season.
The daytime adventures give you an amazing view of the untamed mountains of the Tamok valley, while the evening tours offer excellent opportunities to experience the majestic Northern Lights far removed from the bright lights of the city.
Transport, warm clothing, experienced English-speaking guides, a hot meal and all necessary equipment are included.
Camp Tamok offers far more than activities: Untouched wilderness and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When you visit Camp Tamok, Lyngsfjord Adventure will take care of all the practical arrangements, while Mother Nature will take care of the rest!
For the ultimate Arctic experience, we recommend choosing the popular Overnight Stay, which combines an evening and daytime activity with an overnight stay at Camp Tamok. But be aware: The Northern Lights will keep you awake, so don’t count on getting much sleep!
If you are feeling adventurous and want to create even more memories, we recommend our Full-Day Programme:
Three Arctic adventures in one action-packed day. This is the genuine Tamok experience!
If you are seeking an even more adventurous and challenging experience, book the Arctic Circle Expedition: A four-day adventure in Norway, Finland and Sweden driving an Arctic Truck!
In the area thousand-metre-high mountains fall vertically into the deep fjords, giving the landscape a dramatic signature that you will not find anywhere else in Europe. Right behind the fjords, the enormous Lapland tundra reaches all the way to the depths of Russia.
In this part of Europe, wintertime offers a unique chance to experience the Polar Night and the magical Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Lyngenfjords adventure area is known for a very dry climate and many days/evenings of clear sky, which results in a high probability of seeing the Northern Lights.
Lyngsfjord Adventure has offered Arctic adventures since 2007, serving guests from all over the world. We are committed to providing our visitors with experiences of the highest quality, focusing on authentic excursions in the Arctic wilderness. They do this by implementing a cultural and historical perspective in our services, like the Sami traditions. The managers and guides are locals and have considerable knowledge, skills and history that they take pride in sharing with their guests.
