Throughout Sweden, you can explore gorgeous unspoilt coastlines sprinkled with archipelagoes, beautiful islands, clean beaches and cosy fishing villages.
The tradition for sailing goes centuries back in Sweden. The season for sailing in Sweden is July-September and darkness falls for just 3 hours a day in high summer. This almost constant daylight gives you the opportunity to sail the waters of the north, south, east and west coasts.
Stockholm Archipelago
The swedes have some favourite sailing spots in the summer. The Stockholm archipelago, of course, is very popular. There are 24,000 islands in the Stockholm archipelago, so you are literally spoiled for choice. Some famously recommended islands there Finnhamn, Grinda, Utö and Sandhamn.
Gothenburg Archipelago & The West Coast
Head for Sweden’s West Coast. Here you widely have the opportunity to combine sailing with good food. From Gothenburg and its Michelin-starred restaurants to the summer town of Smögen and beyond, you can enjoy a taste of West Sweden. Fabulous shellfish, lobster, oysters and prawns are hits here.
The High Coast
You can sail the waters of the Gulf of Bothnia in Swedish Lapland and go onshore to experience the weird and wonderful geology of the High Coast from the east coast of Northern Sweden.
Gotland
If you want to combine history and maritime interests, the island Gotland has it all. Visby the perfectly preserved medieval town inviting you to visit Viking settlements and taste of Swedish island life.
