Marselisborg Palace has a long and interesting history. Back in time it was a wedding present from the Danish people to King Christian X.
In 1967 King Frederik IX decided to give the Palace to his daughter Crown Princess Margrethe(later Margrethe II) and her consort, Prince Henrik. Today the Palace is the residence for the Roýal Family in the summer months.
The palace is surrounded by an English-style park with ponds, a rose garden and a number of works of art. The park is open to the public when the Royal Family not staying at the Castle.
