Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim is a "must see" attraction when visiting Trondheim.
It is the northernmost medieval cathedral in the world. The church is centrally located in Trondheim city center, and the most important Gothic monument in Norway.
When it was built back in 10 centred northern Europe was the most important place of pilgrimage for Christians in the Middle Ages. Some of the oldest parts of the church is still existing and being used.
Previously, the coronation of kings was here, and the present King Harald V and Queen Sonja were consecrated in the cathedral.
