Skagen Museum

Skagen Museum is one of Denmark`s most well-known museums because of the artists Anna and Michael Ancher and P.S. Krøyer.

An impressive collection

The collection of Skagens Museum includes over 1800 paintings, sketches, graphic works, sculptures and ceramics, mainly from 1870-1930.

Back around 1870 up to 1930, Skagen became a meeting place for international painters and artists, and the stories tell that in the 1880s, Skagen had a Worldwide reputation. 

Where is Skagen

Skagen is located in the northernmost part of Denmark, called North Jutland, on the peninsula of Jutland. It is known for its beautiful beaches, dunes, harbour, and of course, the Skagen Painters.
