The King's Garden is Denmark's oldest royal garden, and it is a popular place for Copenhageners to meet and relax and for children to play in the artistic playground. The Renaissance-style garden was established by King Christian IV in the early 1600 century.

Although the park has undergone several major changes, the three entrances have been preserved. Inside the park, you can see the famous statue of Hans Christian Andersen and numerous historical sculptures.
The gardens are also home to a large herbaceous border, a rose garden and in the summer months, huge flowerbeds are a spectacular sight.
In midsummer, there is a puppet show for children - the lawns are crowded with sun worshipers on warm days and during Copenhagen Jazz Festival several bands can be heard playing within the area.
