Denmark´s royal family is very popular in Denmark, and is one of the oldest monarchies in the world.

The Queen's abdication in 2024
During her annual New Year's Eve address on December 31st, 2023, HM The Queen of Denmark declared her intention to step down after a remarkable 52-year reign. She will pass the mantle to her son, Crown Prince Frederik, who is set to ascend to the throne on January 14th, 2024.
